how to handle results from a request to an endpoint

Hi all,
I have set up, very easily, an endpoint with ARC 2. I can
make query to the endpoint and get the results with the
following two lines of code:
$ep->handleRequest();
$rs=$ep->getResult();
echo $rs;
Now I would like to handle the results but I didn't find a
way to do that. The $rs variable that store the result
doesn't seem to be a structure like an index, simple or
non-flat index. Any suggestion ? Thanks.
